The College conducts information sessions on the following Saturdays:

The College city campus is open every day between 9.30am to 6.30pm for College tours.

Tours of the College's Hepburn Springs campus are available by appointment.

The college beauty salon is also open to the public from 9.30am - 6.30pm Monday to Friday and on Saturdays.

Elly Lukas Beauty Therapy College

Established in 1954, the Elly Lukas Beauty Therapy College offers 20 beauty therapy, massage and spa therapy courses including the highest beauty therapy qualification available in Australia - the Diploma of Beauty Therapy. The college is registered by the Victorian Qualifications Authority, accredited by the prestigious Swiss beauty therapy organisation CIDESCO and the English examining bodies - ITEC & CIBTAC. As an independent tertiary institution specialising in nationally and internationally accredited beauty therapy career education to a professional industry level, the qualifications that graduates receive from the college are both recognised and respected throughout the world. Working closely with industry, the college maintains relevant training and is able to assist students with employment and traineeship placement in spa/beauty salons and resorts during their training.

The College offers two campuses. Located in Collins Street, Melbourne, the city campus features modern equipment and state-of-the-art facilities including specialist day spa, wet tables, aromatherapy and sauna areas designed to give students valuable knowledge and experience with up-to-date salon treatments as they become available in the industry. Located in the Spa Capital of Australia, the Hepburn Springs campus is a 90 minute drive from Melbourne and is a unique facility that provides students with an innovative learning environment and employment pathways into the Spa & Resort industry.

Students also gain invaluable hands-on experience during their training within the college salon that provides a supervised environment to assist in their transition from student to professional practitioner.

Credit transfer and articulation

Registered Nurses or those with an equivalent education standard will, upon examination, be given credit towards theory units of the Diploma of Beauty Therapy or Certificate level courses. The Certificate level courses and VCAL fully articulate into the Diploma of Beauty Therapy course.

Recognition of prior learning

Applicants with other prior learning or transferring from other institutions will, upon formal RPL application, receive credit towards the Diploma level course.

Tuition fees

Students undertaking the Diploma of Beauty Therapy, Certificate IV in Beauty Therapy, Diploma of Resort Management (Spa) and Certificate IV in Massage are eligible to apply for Youth Allowance/Austudy and the Deferred Repayment Student Loan (in which no repayments are required until 3 months after completion of the course).
The Victorian Government Funded Traineeship is now available for Certificate IV in Beauty Therapy. Applicants can receive State Government funding for this course, which upon completion fully articulates into the Diploma of Beauty Therapy. State Government funded VCAL placements are also available. Flexible installment payment plans are also offered. Please contact the college for further information.

Student services

The college operates an active work placement program, successfully placing students in part-time employment and or Traineeships during their course, as well as placing graduates upon completion of their studies. Students are required to nominate five beauty salons/spas or resorts in their area for possible inclusion in the practical placement program during the year. Student apartment accommodation is located adjacent to the College city campus. Home Stay arrangements are available for country, interstate and overseas students.
At the City campus, a student welfare counsellor is available for vocational guidance, personal counselling and advice on study skills and examination techniques. A resource library and internet access is available to all students.
